The more constraints there are, the less productive the process. Some of the constraints are structural among which are morphological and syntactic ones. The morphological constraints are the morphological category of the base, the morphological structure of the base and the affix in the outmost layer of the base. The syntactic constraints include subcategorization frame and argument structure constraints. میان زایایی ساختواژی و تعداد محدودیت‌های حاکم بر عملکرد زایای فرایندهای ساختواژی رابطة معکوس وجود دارد؛ به این ترتیب که با افزایش تعداد این محدودیت‌ها، زایایی ساختواژی کاهش می‌یابد. گروهی از محدودیت‌های زایایی ساختواژی، ساختاری هستند که از آن‌جمله می‌توان به محدودیت‌های صرفی و نحوی اشاره کرد. محدودیت‌های صرفی شامل طبقة صرفی پایه، ساخت صرفی پایه و وند موجود در آخرین لایة پایه و محدودیت‌های نحوی شامل محدودیت‌های چهارچوب زیرْمقوله‌ای و ساخت موضوعی هستند. https://lsi-linguistics.ihcs.ac.ir/article_1624_9327969053c0068dd9e07c529866b94d.pdf
