It has been shown that there are some criticisms on this approach by using the data gained from the study of aphasics and the new neuroimaging techniques used in the recent 17 years to determine the places which are activated in the brain and the ways these places act through the language tasks. The results show that we need to be very careful to accept the modularity approach, at least in the way that it has been presented in the classic model. در این مقاله رویکرد حوزه‌ای به زبان، هم‌آن‌گونه که در زبان‌شناسی نظری به آن نگریسته شده و هم به طریقی که در بررسیهای عصب‌شناختی به آن توجه شده، مورد بررسی قرارگرفته است و با استفاده از داده‌های به‌دست آمده از بررسی بیماران مبتلا به آفازی و همچنین روشهای تازه‌ای که در سالهای  اخیر برای مشخص کردن چگونگی عملکرد مغز به هنگام فعالیتهای زبانی متداول شده، به نقد این رویکرد پرداخته شده است. https://lsi-linguistics.ihcs.ac.ir/article_1616_962e56a8a0b0420d87272a682bfd1e53.pdf
