There are many meanings related to this word such as: legal partner, woman on her wedding’s day, fiancée, bride, maid, bedfellow, which are coming from different old and middle texts. Probably the term “Hochzeit” (= wedding) comes from an adjective meaning in past. According to the ethymological view, should be necessary not to forget the cultural aspect of this word. <em>مقالة حاضر به بررسی واژة عروس </em>(Braut)<em> در زبان ژرمنی و ریشه‌شناختی آن با توجه به چند زبان دیگر خانوادة زبانی هند و اروپایی می‌پردازد. از این کلمه</em><em>،</em><em> معانی:  زوج</em><em>ة</em><em> شرعی، زن در روز ازدواج، نامزد، همسرِ پسر، دوشیزه، باکره و همبستر از متن‌های گوناگون باستان و میانه در دست است. در یک دوره</em><em>،</em><em> معنای صفتی هم داشته است که احتمالاً کلمة عروسی </em>(Hochzeit)<em> هم‌ریشه با این معنی است. در تحولات آوایی این واژه, بار فرهنگی آن را نباید فراموش کرد.  </em> https://lsi-linguistics.ihcs.ac.ir/article_1598_9c19a2aa1d84e04b0bd4bc888792bd1e.pdf
