Hafiz poetry has always been a rich source for literary studies. Yet it still remain unexplored in numerous ways. The present paper examines the schematic structure of the sonnets of Hafiz, from a cognitive point of view. It uses the descriptive-analytical method. The results show that in Hafiz' s Divan, the schemata are not limited to Saeed' s categories, and are both qualitatively and quantitatively richer that what Saeed assumes. Moreover, the results demonstrate that in addition to path, force and containment schemata, other types of schemata exist in the Divan, ranging from body organs and clothing, to color, time and place.
